Warframe staffer slammed with death threat over recent patch

Wholesome and simple.
Earlier in the week, Digital Extremes made several announcements about upcoming Warframe content. One of those announcements included the revelation that The War Within is more than a month away, and people were definitely miffed about that, but that wasn’t the topic that blew up. In fact, what has people raging — to the tune of over a thousand comments on the forums — was a tweak that gave Sentinels a Vacuum range of 6m instead of 12m. I know, the horror, right? It led to some nasty behavior toward Rebecca Ford, Warframe’s Live Operations & Community Producer.

“I got a murder threat, which was a first,” she tweeted.

Because as we all know, if something upsets you on the internet, the only recourse is for you to find the nearest relevant woman and threaten to kill her. It’s the 28th amendment or something. “That’s the job,” one Twitter-goer rationalized. (Pretty sure it’s not.)

Actually, many people in the community rallied behind Ford, whom they call Space Mom, so thank you, Warframe community. And here’s Ford herself discussing the situation.

By the way, DE changed it back to 12m. Humanitarian crisis averted.
