It’s no secret that H1Z1 has been strongly favoring its PvP edition, King of the Kill, in development and publicity ever since the game split in twain earlier this year. This might be changing: The game’s PvE survival version, Just Survive, has a new advocate who is promising a brighter future for the neglected MMO.
General Manager and former Gearbox Software co-founder Landon Montgomery introduced himself on Reddit this past weekend, saying that he was recently moved into the GM role on Just Survive. He acknowledged that the past year has proven “frustrating” for players of the PvE game while saying that Daybreak is working to beef up the Just Survive team and pouring more resources into the title’s development. He also indicated that there will be an AMA coming soon for the game’s community.
“As GM, it’s my job to oversee Just Survive top to bottom and deliver on the existing and future promises of the game,” Montgomery wrote. “Speaking of which, we have some really cool design plans forming up as I write this that I’ll be stoked to share with you in the coming months. Right now however, I’m focused on getting the live build to a solid, high quality state for the Just Survive community.”
