If candy corn elementals are your thing, get ready for the return of Guild Wars 2’s annual Halloween festivities. ArenaNet posted the date this morning:

“Beginning on October 18, the annual Shadow of the Mad King event returns with ghoulish capers, spooky fights, and holiday fun! Get ready for another year of tricks, treats, and terrible jokes as the pumpkin-headed former ruler of the Thorn dynasty graces Lion’s Arch with his presence. Collect candy corn, play all of your favorite Halloween activities, and earn sweet new rewards. Keep an eye out for ArenaNet staff members in Lion’s Arch from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM Pacific Time (UTC-7) on October 18!”

The studio is promising the Clock Tower jumping puzzle, the “a-mazing Labyrinth,” candy corn, and “much more.”

Incidentally, October 18th is also when Mad King’s Day begins in classic Guild Wars. Maybe give that a peek too, especially if you want to hear jokes that always… slay the audience.
