We have witnessed many bounty systems in many online games, but how many of these have involved putting a price on your own head to encourage others to try to kill you? Not many, we wager.
H1Z1: King of the Kill is rolling out its new bounty system that does just this, allowing players to establish a price tag that will be paid out to others if they get killed. Why would you do this? The official blog post on this is a little hazy on the specifics, but it seems that by “backing your performance,” you’ll be able to participate and earn a bigger payout in solo PvP matches.
Players can use real-money currency (crowns), bounty currency (skulls), or in-game currency (credits) to establish the bounty. Currency earned during these matches can be spent on special items in the marketplace.
Over in the more zombie-laden H1Z1: Just Survive, the team is preparing a test update that includes fixes for weapons, latency, invisible players, and crashes to desktop.
