A new game mode has been added to Overwatch, and it’s called Sinking Ships. The first round was when Blizzard established Tracer’s relationship status with someone who heretofore had not been introduced, thus sinking both the popular “Tracer x Widowmaker” and “Tracer is my waifu” ships in one shot. Now the dataminers have pulled out a series of dirty, lying voice clips suggesting that Mercy and Genji are also in a relationship.
This is obviously fake, since everyone knows that Mercy and Pharah are dating, which means that these clips must be the start of an ARG even more elaborate than Sombra’s.
You can listen to the actual voice clips, which make up a three-part exchange; Genji seeks chocolates for Mercy, whom he calls by her real name rather than her codename. Obviously, this can be seen as a hint at a deeper relationship or just a platonic exchange between two close friends; it’s up to the listener to make the call on that. (But the correct call is that this is a pack of lies.)
