On the tenth day of Christmas, Warframe gave me ghastly ghouls and personal quarters

I liked it.
Is this Christmas or Halloween?

One can never quite tell with Warframe, which activated its holiday update yesterday with a bounty on ghoul packs. These critters sound like they could move right into Santa’s workshop: “repugnant Ghouls that overrun their victims in a gruesome mass of limbs and toxin.” Ho-ho-ho boy.

This holiday update also contains housing with brand-new personal quarters. Players can customize their quarters with toys, wallpaper, and even fish tanks. Aw. Fishies.

“Tenno can now personalize and decorate their own personal quarters with an assortment of cool items,” Digital Extremes said. “Customize the landing craft with a mini-stage, then select from posable Warframe figures, companion toys and beds, wallpaper, a fish tank and more to create a mini diorama of one’s own making. Plus, players can now invite a friend inside to visit!”

I like the new event. It’s more fun than the toxic boil one. But the rewards are a bit rubbish. Still, content updates like this are great.

I’m still reeling from the heart-wrenching lore-bomb that my quarters unlocked, I never thought a five-minute prequel/teaser mini-quest could have so much impact!

I don’t have the plat spare for the wallpaper or dioramas at the moment, but am looking forward to catching fish for the tanks and collecting music tracks for the jukebox once I get home from Xmas :)

It is a pity that players have to get so far through the game before they can access the room though.

I found this pic floating around on the twitter that accurately describes how I felt after the quest. The feels were real.

That seems kind of spoiler-y. :\

I suppose it could seem that way but it really isn’t. I found that pic before I played the quest and it didn’t quite make sense. It wasn’t until I finished it that it clicked as to what that pic means.

DE continues to show me why I’m happy as a new warframe player to give them money for plat. They do so much awesome stuff for the playerbase

Neat, just in time for me to jump back in after dropping Destiny 2.

I THINK the Living Quarters are only available to construct after you’ve done The War Within questline. At the very least you can decorate the rest of your ship.
Also I’m very happy and amazed to see Warframe get more and more positive attention, including an award from Massively Op XwX
Also! 100k Tennobaum charity get!

So how much are the lockboxes to acquire it? $60 or $100?

What lockboxes?

flamethekid .

there are no lockboxes in warframe.

this personal chamber is given to you free the moment you log in after you acquire the ability to walk around the orbiter as your tenno

0 dollars. Just get yer ass to sedna junction and run a questline.

So it turns out that the new living quarters has an unannounced feature to it if you’re past the Chains of Harrow mission. There’s a little something in the room that activates a hidden mini quest that has some significant lore implications and changes the way a certain game feature works afterwards. I recommend getting your Tenno all dressed up the way you like them before you head into your room because reasons.

Merry Christmas, Tenno….or is it?

It’s becoming a DE Christmas tradition :p Drop the lore bomb right before they all shove off for the holidays, leaving the playerbase running around in circles flailing their arms…

I still have to finish that one. I hate the missions where you need to capture his shadow, guy rocks me in a couple hits and even Rhino’s extra armor goes byebye.
