A brand-new minigame and a bunch of rocks enter Warframe this week

Did you know that Warframe has minigames buried inside its code? That is indeed a thing, and in fact a new hidden minigame has been added to the world of Warframe with this week’s update as Frame Fighter joins existing games Wyrmius and Happy Zephyr.

“Challenge your friends to a side by side duel — Frame Fighter has arrived!” Digital Extremes says. “Inspired by long-time Warframe Fan LocoCrazy_, this no-frills arcade minigame will transform your Orbiter into a battleground! No quarters required! Visit Simaris and acquire the Ludoplex — a new home for all of Warframe’s minigames — through Standing. Choose from Excalibur, Volt and Mag, each with their unique Ability. Unlock additional Frame Fighter characters by discovering Fragments throughout the game. If the scanned Warframe’s Prime is in your Inventory, you can toggle to the Prime version of the acquired character.”

The patch also adds some new amp bits and… rocks and plants. No really, there are new flora pieces available as decorations for clan bases. Nifty! Not coincidentally, we’ll be streaming Warframe tonight; join us on OPTV at 9 p.m. EDT to see the some of the new content up close!

Love that they used that Hair Metal song for the vid. So funny.

I hope the fan that made it is getting recouped somehow.

I wasn’t expecting the new T4 amps, but apparently they had been leaked a little while back.

The Mote Amp (the free one you get after completing The War Within) also got some buffs. They refactored it to work more like Beam weapons, buffed its damage, and made Gilding it grant a range boost. Should make the Mote a little nicer to use in Teralyst fights and such.

I am still trying to figure out Amps. And I’m MR16. So much to do in this game! (I have also only fought one Teralyst, so…yeah.)

Amps are really only necessary for Eidolon fights right now anyway. The Sentients that pop up on Lua aren’t too hard to deal with using standard weapons, although the Mote certainly makes them easier.

(Eidolons are kinda fun once you understand the mechanics. You should try out the Teralyst some more, you get tons of Focus from them. Just stay away from the Tridolon bounty, that’s where folks get all salty if you don’t have a meta setup.)

I’m still quite a ways away from the Tridolon bounty. I will be happy just to do the regular Teralyst several more times!

To date, most of my work on Cetus has been building up rep for Zaws. I’m just about to build my first one. Excited!

When i left i was MR4, it seemed harder 3 years ago to rank up? I’m already MR10 within weeks of coming back?

Great to hear MR16 still has much to do.

I jump out of my frame in most missions just to keep the amp leveling. I have to get down to Eidolon more often and level up with the Quill. Was too busy chasing specters there for a bit, lol.

Gosh, I am always overwhelmed with things to do, still. Things I have never done or focused on:

1) Sorties
2) Rivens
3) Zaws
4) Eidolons
5) Amps
6) Finished the quest chains (!!!)
7) Arenas

The thing I most recently checked off my list was The Index, so yeah, that’s an amazing way to make money in game. Until now, I’ve been focused mostly on gathering frames and weapons and sentinels. I’m an Altoholic in my MMOs so this game scratches a HUGE itch by making all these things acquirable. (Most recent obsession is Saryn. Expect that to change…well, any minute now.)

I need everything on your list and more, as in tons of weps, frames still to go… so fantastic good news. I finished all the quest chains though. Probably why i hit 10 so fast.
