Star Citizen talks PTU flow for alpha 3.6.0, plus snub fighters and trains

Cloud Imperium is back with another Inside Star Citizen video this week, this one focused on the PTU – the public test universe. As Star Citizen players know, elite testers began taking their first steps into the 3.6.0 alpha build last week, making this particular video a timely one for everyone else curious about how the PTU works (and where you fit into it).

“We have several waves,” CIG’s Michael Smith explains. “The first wave is the Evocati wave, and these are usually our most dedicated testers; they spend the most time playing the game, the spend the most time on the issue council, they’re very devoted with the game and the systems. And we throw them basically our rawest product.”

Then, CIG takes player feedback and acts accordingly, pushing the build to Wave 1 (Concierge subbers) and Wave 2 to test the load, and then, ultimately, to everyone.

This episode also features segments on the new 3.6.0 weapons, VFX, lighting, sub fighters, and transit tech improvements (yes, trains – it’s kinda like Mini Metro in your MMO).
