It’s here, it’s here – Cube World has officially hit closed beta on Steam! As we noted last week, the game’s original developer resurfaced in September to say he was really truly launching this time after six years of alpha puttering and long absences. Closed beta rolled out to existing owners yesterday; you’ll need your ancient Picroma account info because you’ll need to use that to collect your Steam key, apply it to your account, and log in. I tested that this week and even logged into the game this morning. Works like a charm!

Today’s update fixes multiple floating and station crashes and the ocean markers, plus tweaks the minimap (there’s a minimap!), spawn location, and wall jumping. Picroma’s Wolfram von Funck has also been posting tips on Twitter, like use F1 to show character controls, F2 and F3 resize the GUI, and make sure to use the flight master to hop to your mates for free in multiplayer.

Official Steam early access launch is still set for September 30th. There’s a brand-new trailer up; check it out below!
