With quite a ways to go until Diablo IV hits the scene, Diablo III will need to feed the insatiable hunger for loot piñatas for the foreseeable future. And while the ARPG’s expansion days may be well behind it, Diablo III is still cranking out new seasons to keep its community busy.
To wit, Season 19 of the game went live this past week with a focus on killstreaks. “Inspired by the war waged between the High Heavens and the Burning Hells, you‘ll earn increasingly powerful effects as you unleash destruction upon your foes,” Blizzard said. “So rack up those kills and clear the battlefields in the name of Sanctuary!”
Players will enjoy a pandemonium buff during this season that will speed them up and increase their damage output. As they hit greater killstreak milestones, the battlefield will transform in various ways, such as corpses raining from the sky and exploding chickens flapping your way looking for revenge.
The season has two new cosmetic rewards (such as the angelic treasure goblin pet), the ability to earn more stash tabs, and more class gear. Blizzard is introducing new class sets across the board with this patch, and Barbarians will see a lot of changes to their gear.
We are grateful to have been able to share with you the progress we have made thus far. The #Diablo4 team will be returning to the depths. Keep a lookout, as they will be emerging periodically for your feedback. In the meantime, enjoy Season 19 of Diablo 3! pic.twitter.com/sw6A9Gok30
