Star Wars: The Old Republic previews the Feast of Prosperity on the test server

Clearly, what a a galaxy far, far away needs for players are more seasonal events. The Feast of Prosperity is the next annual recurring event for Star Wars: The Old Republic, complete with weekly story content alongside new daily and weekly missions and new minigames. And you can try it out now on the test server, although we are relatively certain that your reward will not be a droid companion who follows you around lounging on a couch while eating grapes.

The lack of Hedonism Bot is not the only omission here, though; players will only be able to try out the introductory story quest alongside the other seasonal content, so you can’t experience the whole story. But if you want a preview of the event before it goes live, jump on over to the test server and give it a shot. After all, who doesn’t love a good feast?

There’s no Hedonism Bot per se, but there are a few mounts where your character lounges on a pile of pillows like an indolent Hutt while a droid pilots for you.

One of the things I liked about SWTOR before they totally f-ed up the leveling process with 4.0 was the fact they didn’t fall into the tired old tropes of seasonal events. I found it refreshing not to be bombarded by that kind of nonsense in a universe where it doesn’t really belong. It’s a shame that caved to the QQers over it and added that garbage to the game.

Maybe I’m just overlooking the obvious, but I have not been able to find (here or elsewhere) when this starts for real on the live server?

I’m genuinely enjoying the post-Zakuul new storyline quite a bit but, dang, they seem to be getting down to one story-content drop per year now. It’s very disheartening.

Hopefully, things will improve, as others here have said, with the return to Steam appearing to have raised the game’s popularity and profile anew.

Im hoping with the additional steam numbers they are making enough money to make more regular content, like real content not shop items :(

Like the upcoming story update?

As much as I enjoy SWTOR its story updates and expansions since launch have always been pretty sparse because of how expensive the game was to make with its persistence on being fully voice acted and story focus. Obviously that’s one of the game’s biggest draws, but I hope the influx of money means we get more content. And getting meaty story content more often than every 6-12 months would be a nice bonus too.

Full disclosure I have not experienced Onslaught yet, so I don’t know how much it offers. But the period of time between it and KOTET was pretty rough with how quick each update was IMHO.

I’m just addressing the seeming suggestion that there isn’t content coming. Specifically, yes sure, I hope more regular content is coming. Personally I’m so casual and behind things that I’d prefer massive changes to systems (especially backend, performance based, etc) though.
