So, you like to play Black Desert on console, but you also are excited for the next generation of consoles that are coming soon. What do you do? You don’t worry is what you do because Pearl Abyss has recently confirmed that the game will be fully backwards compatible with the new PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/Series S consoles.

Xbox players will be able to play Black Desert from the very first day of the new console’s launch and will not need to purchase any additional bundles; the only caveat is that Xbox players will need to use their current Xbox Live account on the new console. As for PS5 owners, Pearl Abyss says it’s working with Sony to make day one compatibility available but will provide more complete updates soon.

In other BDO news, Hadum’s Realm has been introduced to Black Desert Mobile; the PC version is starting an event that gives boost items for every 30 minutes of playtime and is selling an item that boosts drop rates by 50% for 1 million Silver; and the devs are offering a little preview of the O’dyllita soundtrack, with an overture shared in video form that we’ve got after the cut.
