Torchlight III adds pet costumes, spooky fort decorations, and legendary items in the newest update

While Torchlight III isn’t really going to put on any sort of large-scale social event owing to the fact that it’s not an MMO, the multiplayer ARPG still is keen on celebrating the Halloween season with its Gear ‘N’ Goblins update, which has added a variety of thematically appropriate goodies for players to revel in.

Several of these are in the cosmetic variety, with three new pets — the Midnight Cat, Dragonling Spirit, and the Spooky Retriever — that can be found in dungeons between now and December, each with the Necropupper ability that summons two skeletons that deal 50% weapon damage and have 50% of a character’s health for 12 seconds. There are also a variety of fort decorations to unlock including wooden coffins, a skull gate, and a faceless orator, all of which can be found in each of the three types of Contracts.

As for the “gear” part of the update’s title, there’s some new legendary items available, including the Relic-focused Ancient Ember gear set, along with the Sword of the Lost Legion and the Lightning Baller mace, both with their own unique abilities. And as for content, there are two new affixes added to the Fazeer Dun’Djinn endgame activity, along with quality-of-life features like the ability to buy Respectacles and a number of bug fixes and skill updates.

This new update is now available for Steam, Xbox One, and PS4 players, with the update arriving to the Switch edition at a later time. For now, there are patch notes to comb through. Spooky patch notes, probably.
