Let’s be honest: If you’re a fan of Transformers, you have been subjected to a paucity of good games in the franchise over the years. But lately you don’t have the problem of a paucity of crossovers for the franchise, which is where the newest SMITE battlepass offers players a robots-in-disguise-flavored set of skins coming to the game on November 16th. Optimus Prime, Starscream, and Megatron are all coming to the game in both moder modern looks and more “classic” G1-inspired decorations.
Of course, these are not wholly new characters; Megatron is a skin for Ra, Starscream is a skin for Jing Wei, and Optimus Prime is a skin for Geb. So you may need to temper your excitement for these skins with an understanding of which characters they’ll be layered on. Then again, is there a better motivation to get good at playing Jing Wei than knowing you can turn him into Starscream? (No, you cannot be cranky that it’s not Thundercracker or Skywarp.)
