The Daily Grind: What’s your favorite healing style in an MMO?

If I could only pick one healing style forever in an MMO, it’s anything that hooks me up with a Grid-like healing tool. That was one of my favorite things to do in World of Warcraft back in the day: Grid-based healing. I don’t want to mess with unit frames. I don’t want to fling down area-of-effect heals and hope my targets are close. Just give me a good modded health window and let me make the bars go up. It’s like the best game of whack-a-mole ever. Bless the modder who invented Grid (or whatever it’s called now). I remember half the reason I agreed to heal in Warhammer was that someone had ported Grid over there!

Once I get that out of my system, my slightly less lizard-brained self reminds me that I also really like healing styles that don’t heal at all, like the protective and preventative support who basically negate the need for healing – popular in City of Heroes. That’s fun too.
