The Daily Grind: Which MMO offers the best ‘shopping’ experience?

We’re talking about in-game shopping, mind you, not photoshop or cash-shop or workshops or whatever.

I’ve joked before – not entirely facetiously – that one of my favorite in-game MMORPG activities is shopping, particularly in games where the shopping experience involves traveling to people’s houses or vendors. I’m thinking of games like Star Wars Galaxies, Ultima Online, and EverQuest II, although I actually enjoy the thrill of auction-halling in games limited to that too. I honestly enjoy scrolling through what’s for sale and checking out the stores and comparing prices, like sampling the economy of the game. It’s the kind of thing that could get me into trouble in the real world, but fortunately, this is just pretend video game money – and it gives me a good reason to bother earning there too.

Which MMO offers the best “shopping” experience?

Every morning, the Massively Overpowered writers team up with mascot Mo to ask MMORPG players pointed questions about the massively multiplayer online roleplaying genre. Grab a mug of your preferred beverage and take a stab at answering the question posed in today’s Daily Grind!
