Remember back in 2019 when we were all still waiting on Lost Ark’s arrival to the west? Then you perhaps also remember that we reported on the potential of a mobile version of the OARPG at the time thanks to some job postings from developer Smilegate. Well it looks as if those assumptions were correct as the developer had teased the game a month ago and now officially unveiled Lost Ark Mobile to Korean fans at this year’s G-Star event.
Not only was the game officially confirmed by the studio, it was also fully playable on the show floor, with the single-player Wall of Glory battle instance, the Morai Ruins abyss dungeon for multiplayer gaming, and a “special play experience zone” that purports to let players “experience the vibrant world of Lost Ark Mobile firsthand” according to auto-translation.
As for the demo itself, impressions from Inven KR report that the game played well on mobile devices even in the chaos of an abyss dungeon, that the demo had seven classes on offer, and that it had auto-pathing to quest locations but no automatic hunting feature.
It should be noted that all of these impressions don’t answer whether or when the mobile version will make a global release – this is a Korean game show for Korean gamers – but we can all at least get a general look at this pocket-sized edition of the MMOARPG from the G-Star floor in a video below.
