Final Fantasy XIV prepares another Starlight holiday event December 15 and shares dev anniversary messages

The holiday season – and arguably one of the greatest pieces of Christmas event music ever composed – is making its return to Final Fantasy XIV once again on Friday, December 15th, when the Starlight Celebration event begins anew.

Players will once again need to return to a seasonal celebrant NPC waiting in Gridania in order to take on this year’s event quest, which will reward players with a light-covered chocobo topiary housing item and a full-blown Santa outfit. The event will run all through the month of December, so there are plenty of weeks to drink in some holiday cheer.

Meanwhile, the MMORPG continues to mark the 10th anniversary of A Realm Reborn with multiple congratulatory messages from Japanese developer luminaries like artist Yoshitaka Amano, FFXIV writer Yasumi Matsuno, artist Akihiko Yoshida, and developer Yoko Taro, among several others. The MMORPG’s YouTube channel has been posting several video message over the past week, so more are likely to come, particularly in the lead-up to the Tokyo Fan Festival in January.
