MMOs You’ve Never Heard Of: Trimurti Online, Karos Classic, Quest Master’s Realm

Welcome back to another quick roundup of MMOs and MMO-adjacent multiplayer titles you’ve (probably) never heard of! First off, we’ll point out that this edition doesn’t have any 2-D sprite sandboxes on offer; what it does have are some follow-ups to previously reported-on titles and a game that’s so classic yet obscure that it probably circles back around to being new again.

Trimurti Online: This past September we caught word of this self-described “oriental fantasy” MMO angling for a December 8th launch. Well, that launch didn’t happen – it’s projected for February 13th now – but the game has been holding a stress test through December and extended into January. While developer GameOlic admits its first week of playtesting had problems, it has been working on them along the way.

Karos Classic: Back in 2010, an MMORPG called Karos Online went live until about the middle of 2012 when it was sunsetted in favor of a new version known as ROSH Online: Return of Karos, which still appears to be running to this day as Karos under the stewardship of publisher GameXP. That same publisher has elected to put forth a Karos Classic on its site and on Steam, heralding the free-to-play re-revival as a way for players to “indulge [their] nostalgia for [their] favorite game, untouched by years and updates.”

Quest Master’s Realm: Finally we check back in on another obscure title’s development that we first noted this past March. This “realtime action-based MMORPG world of fantasy adventure” started running alpha tests in November and has most recently introduced PvP to the game, which is demonstrated in the video below. As for its launch plans, those have since shifted from January 2024 to March 2024 according to its Steam page.
