Broken Ranks sits at a strange intersection of the MMO world: It’s turn-based, it’s isometric, and it’s a grimdark title that actually impressed us when we dived in for some playtime. The game’s latest update, which rolled out this week, includes revamps to orb mechanics meant to boost their value and trading, the Heurokratos instance, two-factor security, achievement searches, party locking, and a range of other bug fixes and QOL tweaks. It’s meant as a “community update” that focuses largely on feedback directly from the game’s dedicated players.
But Polish studio Whitemoon Games is pushing onward from there: Two years in, it’s delivering its latest roadmap, which covers the rest of 2024. Some of the work is already done, like the community update with the orb system buff, but other chunks are still en route. The studio is tentatively planning a skin redesign, new epics, daily activities, sidequests, and closed beta for the mobile version of the game between now and summer, with another community update, enhancements to loot, new bosses and a new area, the MSQ’s fourth act, and mobile optimization tests through the end of the year.
The first Community Update in Broken Ranks #MMORPG is now live 💪
Thank you for your support, all your reports and suggestions 😊 It's really great that we have such an engaged community!
