Whatever your feelings might be about the Season 1 test build of Pantheon: Rise of the Fallen from a visual standpoint, Visionary Realms is calling it a huge success from a development standpoint, with this month’s newsletter calling this new testing style a win for the studio, with lots of new players arriving and many staying in-game for more than 24 hours.
“Season 1 […] has been an overwhelming success,” reads the address. “The player count exceeded our expectations and the testing data we’ve gathered has been invaluable. […] We are extremely pleased to see Pantheon being received like this and we can’t thank you enough for your support and participation.”
With Season 1 effectively drawing to an end, the studio is now looking in the direction of Season 2. Subtitled The Mouth of Madness, this next season is headlined by the addition of a new overland dungeon known as Mad Run that’s designed for characters between level 17 and 24 but also features a formidable level 45 boss hiding within its depths. The newsletter claims this delve is “hand-designed to be one of [Visionary Realms’] most challenging content areas to date” and suggests that players exploring the dungeon will need to have tight teamwork and coordination.
The rest of the newsletter talks up lighting, the reintroduction of the Pulse system that governs the MMORPG’s major perception system hook, and improvements to gameplay, animation, and bug fixes. As a reminder, Season 2 will open to higher-level backers starting March 30th.
