One does wonder about the strategic logic of Blizzard activating a highly anticipated “remix” event that repurposes one of World of Warcraft’s most beloved expansions mere days before launching one of the most historically disliked packs in WoW Classic, but such is the nebulous mystery of this studio’s thinking. In any case, Cataclysm Classic is coming on Monday, and Blizzard may be getting a little nervous that nobody may show up to play.
Hence a new 13-minute “nostalgia fuel” video that goes through the entire history of Cataclysm, patch-by-patch, as it originally unfolded back in 2010. But unlike the original two-year run, Cataclysm Classic is condensing all of the content into a single year’s worth of releases — including some new changes along the way.
