The time is soon to come when Last Epoch will take its first step forward along its content roadmap plans, as the multiplayer OARPG is heralding the Harbingers of Ruin update for July 9th.

The centerpiece for this content update is the titular harbinger bosses, with their defeat tying into progression along a new faction known as the Forgotten Knights. This new faction grants another series of unique rewards for both Merchant’s Guild and Circle of Fortune players, while 10 harbinger boss battles await, each one rewarding a special item that unlocks the pinnacle fight against Aberroth and its dangerous realm.

On top of this central mechanic, players can expect additional challenging fights thanks to nemesis-level fights that spawn during the campaign or the Monolith of Fate. Players have three options if they encounter a nemesis: banish it for a chance at different reward rolls later, challenge it if they like the shiny, or empower it, which makes it not drop goodies on its first defeat but allows it to respawn with new affix-filled rewards.

Finally, players will be able to live their best Dark Souls life thanks to the addition of an evade maneuver, which lets them dodge roll out of danger. There are also new items, new uniques, and the promise of additional quality-of-life. For now, players have a trailer to watch and a dev blog to look over.
