Trove celebrates ninth birthday, plans Sunfest, and offers console roadmap

Next week, Trion’s original voxelbox Trove turns nine years old, and though Trion is long gone, current handler Gamigo and its severely underpaid community manager have remembered that birthday in a dev blog this week.

While a large chunk of the letter recaps the Rising Tides update that arrived back in June, it also promises the dawn of Sunfest coming July 9th (on the birthday day itself). “Advance through a brand-new quest chain, meet new NPCs, clear cake dungeons all over Trove, and compete on the new leaderboard as new rewards await!” Gamigo says.

But maybe more interestingly, the studio finally has an update for Xbox fans. The game does still have a population and presence on Xbox, but longtime players will know that the console version is eternally behind when it comes to patches and often misses out entirely on events. Gamigo acknowledges that and seems to be promising a string of monthly events on Xbox in a new July to October roadmap. If we’re reading it right, you’ll finally get St Qubeslick this month, Bunfest in August, Rising Tide itself in September, and Spring Fling in October. We could be getting that mixed up as there are no labels, just pics here, but either way, finally some love for console.
