We all remember how at one point Cyberpunk 2077 was meant to have a multiplayer mode, right? It’s the only reason we covered the game on this site, even though it became clear after the game’s troubled launch that wasn’t happening and it was repeatedly clarified that it was not. So it goes. But because video game fans are a certain way, an enterprising modder has decided that if the developer is not going to make a multiplayer mode? Just mod in multiplayer.

The early version of the mod, CyberMP, was tested in a closed form and is still kind of janky (animations aren’t in for other players, for example) but does at least provide the basic form of what it was promised to be. No word on any kind of release date or features or even how the game will work with multiple players, but that’s all stuff for later in development. The important thing is that assuming all continues apace, you will be able to run around with your chooms after all.
