Now that the Equinox update of EVE Online has been out in the wild for just over a month, CCP Games is prepared to make some gameplay adjustments to several core pillars of the expansion based on data collection and player feedback.
For starters, the devs plan to shore up the expansion’s sovereignty mechanics, particularly in the case of the skyhook structure, with adjustments that aim to ensure that defenders don’t feel compelled to take extreme measures to secure their materials and grant attackers better opportunities for meaningful engagements.
The movement of ship forces across the map by utilizing the cloak-granting Zarzakh system will also be a focus. Information on just what will be adjusted wasn’t provided, but CCP assures players that it’s heard the feedback of this system stifling fights and making the map feel smaller and that updates are planned for this fall.
Those who like making ship skins with the SKINR tool (“SKINdustrialists” was the term CCP used) may be happy to learn that cost and time requirements were temporarily adjusted in this week’s patch while CCP will monitor impact and gather player feedback. That same patch also made several daily goal changes like a doubling of daily active goals to pick from, increased SP rewards, and the removal of certain goal types.
