Fortnite is no stranger to cramming a bunch of different characters into its battle royale shooter, and it’s had some from the Marvel universe in-game prior to this point, but it looks as if there’s going to be even more Marvel as well as more Disney in general according to an in-game livestream presentation.
The absolute assault of Disney IP begins on Friday, August 16th, when the shooter’s Absolute Doom season goes live, which brings multiple character skins including War Machine, Emma Frost, Black Panther, Mysterio, Jonesy in a Captain America costume, “Peelverine,” Doctor Doom as a mid-season unlock, and the instant unlock of Gwenpool. The season will also introduce several new weapons including dual micro SMGs, Captain America’s shield, or War Machine’s arsenal.
The in-game broadcast shared additional reveals on top, mostly with a Disney and Pixar flair: Skins for Cruella DeVille, Captain Hook, and Maleficent were shown and promised for sometime in the fall – possibly as part of the battle royale shooter’s Fortnitemares Halloween event – while later skins will feature a collaboration with Pixar’s The Incredibles.
