Co-op shooter Polaris delays its weekend pre-alpha test over ‘some serious bugs’

Back in June, we first reported on Polaris, a co-op PvE shooter that sees players take up the role of superpowered individuals to fight guerilla battles against an enemy force known as the Regime. The game’s major hook was its fully destructible environments and it was headed for a pre-alpha test over this weekend.

Unfortunately, that test had to be delayed at the last moment according to an alert from creative director Jonathan Burroughs, who confirmed that “some serious bugs […] reared their ugly head” just before testing was ready to begin. “I don’t want abuse either your time or your trust by sharing a build with you which doesn’t meet my standards,” he explains.

The good news is those who have already registered their interest in joining in the pre-alpha via Steam or newsletter sign-up will still be on the list for entry when testing does get started. The bad news: there’s no testing date confirmed anywhere in the announcement. New dates will be announced as soon as they’re confirmed. “Your interest in our game means more than you can know,” Burroughs closes. “My job is to return the faith you’ve placed in us with a game worthy of your time. Gonna make sure we can do that.”
