Trove launches UP vs Down event and expands Rising Tide with Release the Kraken update

Gamigo’s voxel sandbox MMORPG Trove has loosed a new event as of today, dubbed Up vs. Down. Actually UP vs. DOWN. Intriguingly, this even is launching on all versions of the game simultaneously. Yes, even console.

“From September 10 until September 24 for players on PC, PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch consoles, UP vs. DOWN sees delegates from both the upper (Cloud Layer) and lower (Ashen Wastes) levels arriving in the hub,” Gamigo says. “By speaking with the Fungi faction, players learn how to vote in the Sundered Uplands… even though the results are always the same: all denizens of the Cloud Layer always vote for UP, and all denizens of the Ashen Wastes always vote for DOWN. What could this mean for the harmony of the Uplands?”

Is this a commentary on election season? Anyhow, the event coincides with a PC-only (for now) update called Release the Kraken, a follow-up for the game’s Rising Tide update, with “an expansion to the biome’s story, a fishing expansion, and a brand new boss: the Deep Kraken.” No date for console on this patch is given.
