Last Epoch launches the undead-slaying Imperial Uprising event, starts a new cycle, and adds loot lizards

What do loot lizards, an event about slaying undead, and a new cycle season have in common? Well you probably already guessed that they’re part of the latest patch for Last Epoch, primarily because none of those terms really has much to do with other OARPGs. Unless there’s another type of game that has loot lizards in it.

This new patch has officially kicked off the Imperial Uprising event that runs from now until October 20th; it tasks players with slaying packs of loyalist undead spawns with unique modifiers. Participation in this event does require players to play online, but doing so will grant a special cosmetic item, so players who want to be counted will need to stay connected to the internet.

Beyond the event, there’s the introduction of loot lizards, a new type of random encounter that can spawn whenever an enemy issues a Call to Arms. As in other games with loot-toting goblins, these lizards will flee players (and run toward enemies), dropping coins along the way, until either they are killed (and drop their goodies) or they survive for 20 seconds. There are five different types of lizard, each with its own unique loot table.

The other major piece of the patch is the previously announced full cycle refresh, which moves 1.1 cycle characters to legacy servers and allows new cycle characters to be made once more. This new cycle will run until patch 1.2 arrives.

The new patch also allows players to assign a priority stash tab, makes several bazaar improvements, adds 28 new shrines, allows for UI elements to be scaled, and makes a few fixes and tweaks to the game overall. Cast your eyes over the patch notes for more, but just be sure to look out for packs of zombies and loot-filled lizards.
