It’s go time for Diablo IV as Blizzard has officially launched Vessel of Hatred as of 7 p.m. EDT tonight – just as this post is going live, in fact [update: Blizzard delayed slightly; see below]. In case you somehow missed it, this is indeed a paid expansion for the multiplayer OARPG; the basic buy-in is currently $40 for the standard edition or $70 if you need the base game too.
The free base game patch includes the level raise to 60 and paragon level to 300, the Difficulties system, revamps for item quality and the paragon system, new class and passive skills, the party finder upgrade, and the new season. Vessel of Hatred itself brings the Nahantu region and its associated content, the Spiritborn class, the new campaign, runewards, mercenaries, and plenty more.
“The grand River Gates of Nahantu are waiting, and a tortured Neyrelle drifts further within. This tormented mortal suffers the seemingly endless machinations of the Prime Evil Mephisto trapped within the Soulstone. Become the Spiritborn, and cleanse the jungle of Hatred’s minions with this all-new ferocious class. A new Era of Diablo IV is nearly upon you, wanderer. Directly following the events of the main campaign, a new chapter launches you back into the fire. Track down the lost Neyrelle while the people of Nahantu fight the hatred-fueled demons spreading through their sacred land.”
Have fun if you’re playing tonight!
We are anticipating a short delay for #VesselOfHatred launch. We expect to release the expansion this evening, but we require additional time to ensure a simultaneous launch across platforms.
At 4pm PDT, we will begin locking new logins for #DiabloIV. Players already logged in… pic.twitter.com/CdZACMUUSW
