World of Warcraft players now have a hard date for Update 11.0.5, which is coming in less than two weeks on October 22nd. The big feature of this patch is the debut of WoW’s 20th anniversary, which is a souped-up version than what we’ve had in years prior.
From October 22nd through January 6th, 2025 (yes, all the way into the new year), players can go out a nostalgic Blackrock Depths raid, earn classic Tier 2 armor sets, find tokens to buy mounts and cosmetics, slay a variety of world bosses, and engage in classic dungeon timewalking.
Update 11.0.5 will also expand the Dracthyr’s class options to include Hunter, Rogue, Priest, Mage, Warrior, and Warlock Evoker, while Shamans will get new elemental ascendance forms. There will be several other anniversary quests, and the November trading post will be stocked with back shields that pay homage to Warcraft III’s four factions.
The World of Warcraft 20th Anniversary Celebration begins October 22!
