DC Universe Online finally launches a native Xbox Series X|S client

Are there any more worlds (or galaxies) for DC Universe Online to conquer? There must be because Daybreak’s superhero MMO rolled out a new console release this week with the native Xbox Series X|S client after years of offering backwards compatibility with the Xbox One version.

“If you’re playing on Xbox Series X|S, you can now enjoy exploring the DC Universe with an even richer and more dynamic experience paired with a lightning-fast SSD,” Daybreak said with breathless enthusiasm. “Now’s the time to download the native client to ensure you’re playing on the most optimized client for your console!”

Xbox players on either version can move back and forth between the two clients, and Daybreak said it expects to keep DCUO on the Xbox One as long as Microsoft supports the console.

For those keeping track at home: DCUO launched Xbox One servers back in April 2016 and a native PlayStation 5 version this past spring.
