With all of the announcements flying out of the Warcraft Direct stream yesterday, news about WoW Classic’s Season of Discovery servers got a bit snowed under. However, for those who are still enjoying this experimental ruleset, Blizzard’s still got a trick or three up its sleeve.
Next week on November 21st, Season of Discovery officially is moving into Phase 6. “Face your fears when you gather your allies to confront the Old God, C’thun in Ahn’Qiraj and the Dragons of Nightmare in the Nightmare Grove, plus more in Season of Discovery Phase 6,” said Blizzard.
In addition to the Ahn’Qiraj War Effort (which will run from the 21st through the 29th) and the opening of Temple of Ahn’Qiraj, Ruins of Ahn’Qiraj, and Nightmare Grove on December 6th, Season of Discovery is introducing a new raid difficulty system that offers more loot for an increased challenge.
Season of Discovery still has Phase 7 with Naxxramas, Scarlet Temple, and Deadwind Pass instances coming later this winter.
The studio also addressed the future of the server, saying, “We have no plans to delete Season of Discovery characters or to shut down the SoD realms. We plan to continue supporting them, and we’re hard at work on everything else that’s coming… Soon™.”
