Guild Wars 2 friends, it’s time to head to Divinity’s Reach in your festive snow gear because Wintersday has returned to Tyria this afternoon. “As the year winds down and a crisp chill fills the air, Divinity’s Reach transforms into a snowy wonderland for our favorite holiday tradition: Wintersday!” ArenaNet says. “From now until January 2, Tyria welcomes everyone—whether you’re a seasoned hero or just taking your first steps into adventure – for a celebration brimming with joy, laughter, and just the right amount of snowball mischief.”
Toymaker Tixx is back in town, so players will once again be flailing around the Secret Lair of the Snowmen, grinding out weapon skins, giving gifts to sad orphans, being mauled by toys in Toypocalypse, wrecking face in Snowball Mayhem, and embarrassing themselves in the Winter Wonderland jumping puzzle. See? Festive!
OK, we’re kidding, and there’s some new stuff worth noting in this year’s event too: We spy a new plush weapon set (!), the new Winter Mittens armor, the Sacred Solstice weapon set, new cheevos, new weapon drops, Mini Plush Fox (!!), and new homestead recipes and deco. There are also multiple fixes for non-holiday content, including the Decima and Greer fights, guild banners, and the Elementalist volcano skill not doing enough explosions.
