EverQuest Online Adventures rogue server Sandstorm activates its new Farmers’ Fair celebration

It was a thing.

This is your sporadic reminder that, yes, you EverQuest Online Adventure diehards can still pick up and play this special console version of Norrath, thanks to the hard work of volunteers running the Sandstorm rogue server.

The small team’s been working hard on this title in the new year, raising the level cap to 50, adding an auction house, implementing the level 49 epic quests, activating XP debt (yay?), and running a brand-new Farmer’s Fair event with quests, 35 minibosses, and lots of rewards. According to the team, there are currently 7,000 total Sandstorm accounts with a daily concurrency peak of around 300. Not too shabby at all!

“Sandstorm is the first and so far the only public EverQuest Online Adventures server after the official servers shut down in 2012,” the developer explained on the site. “You can play with an emulator such as PCSX2 or a real PlayStation 2. The project started in late 2020, when no functional open source server projects existed. It is independent of any previous projects and the code has been written 100% from scratch.”
