2-D platforming MMO Soul’s Remnant jumps into this week’s Steam Next

Looking like a quirky mixture of MapleStory and a SNES game, Soul’s Remnant first caught our eye all the way back in 2020 when it first came on the scene. In the past half-decade, this passion project of an MMO has been brewing over at developer Chaomoon, and now you have an opportunity to check it out for yourself — if you move quickly.

During this week’s Steam Next Fest, Soul’s Remnant is holding a playtest for interested parties. “The playtest will have lots of new features we’ve been working on,” the devs said. “It’ll run for at least one week, and everyone’s welcome to join!”

Soul’s Remnant is currently in a closed beta state and has been testing the game internally for some time. The MMO describes itself as “focused on social gameplay and exploration,” but combat also plays a significant part.
