When Guild Wars 1 – aka Guild Wars Reforged – officially launched on mobile for real and for true back in June, there was but one catch: It wasn’t possible to connect a mobile ID to Steam or to log into mobile through Steam. It worked smoothly only if you had an ancient standalone Guild Wars account, which all true sickos had. But we want to bring more sickos to the game! And now, we can.
“We have enabled ‘Login from Steam’ on mobile devices. Woo hoo!” says ArenaNet in this week’s patch notes, as always tucked into the OG wiki.
Of course, that’s not all the patch brought: It also adds a pair of consumables, one that “causes pings to appear at enemy locations close to compass range, helping folks that are running Vanquishes to more easily locate their prey and finish them off,” and one that “increases map reveal range and pings nearby locations that have where more map can be revealed.”
ArenaNet says both should be considered in beta as the team is seeking feedback for how they perform when grinding out title tracks. Apparently, these were not meant to go live last night but did anyway, so hey, free test phase. The new Underworld drops that accidentallied their way into the update are disabled, but they’ll be back next week, when we’re getting a larger content patch.
Additional patch bits include fixes for crash bugs, error messages, campaign linking, disconnects, mobile HUD problems, and ” the new bug where the inventory was displaying the male warrior without any armor.” Oh my.
