Cozy MMO Spirit Crossing adds new world events, a bulletin board, new tutorial, and a server wipe

But don't worry, everyone gets a flan hat for the bother

Prepare to be intensely jealous of those who are in the alpha test of Spry Fox’s cozy non-combat MMO Spirit Crossing. Are you ready? Players are being given a flan hat. It is a hat shaped like a caramel flan. Doesn’t it make you want to eat your hands? Or at least the hat? Sure, it’s being given out because the latest patch requires a server wipe, but still, flan hat!

This build of the alpha requires a full reset because the game now has an all-new tutorial that promises “a more focused introduction to the game” after multiple player requests. As one might expect, the developers are hoping for a bunch of feedback on whether this new onramp to the game hits the right marks for fans.

The patch has otherwise added some new world events for players to participate in, a new bulletin board feature that lets players post notices for things like building plans or social events, and a wide assortment of new housing items, clothing pieces, and accessories for players to look forward to.

Other additions of note include some quality-of-life updates for crafting that include instantly created items and new crafting table themes, the addition of beacon energy that can be used at waystation beacons in order to earn shop currency, easier to read UI elements to delineate item rarity, and a host of bug fixes. Now go and enjoy the flan hat.
