We’ve known that EverQuest II is getting a new expansion, but details have been a little light. Thanks to the latest producer’s letter, however, things have gotten much heavier. Say hello to the Blood of Luclin expansion, which is slated to arrive sometime in December.
Blood of Luclin will send players to the moon. As one would expect, the expansion will see a new level cap of 120 for adventurers and tradeskillers, along with new quests and signature lines for both. Luclin will also feature new solo, heroic, and raid content, as well as new challenge modes and contested raid fights. Finally, the expansion will introduce the Overseer feature, which lets players recruit and send agents out to complete tasks to rake in rewards.
Beta testing for Blood of Luclin will begin on Tuesday, November 5th, sometime between 1:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. EDT. The beta will be open to those who pre-order, which will be offered in Standard, Collector’s, Premium, and a new Friends and Family Bundle. This “experimental” bundle doesn’t have a lot of details right now, but the letter does mention that this will be set at “a fairly high price point.” We can assume it’s effectively multiple copies of the expansion to dish out to friends and family based on the bundle’s title alone.
In addition to the expansion news, the producer’s letter confirms a new Rivervale server launching on Tuesday, November 5th, that will feature no gated content and even let players create a level 90 character right from the jump. This server will be open to those who have a membership to the game.
Finally, the letter closes with word that Thursday, November 7th, will bring a new anniversary event to EverQuest II, which features an updated Heroes’ Festival and a new Dragons Attack 15th anniversary event. It also states that fans should keep their eyes peeled for November updates, which will provide news on Daybreak’s “teams and […] commitment to the franchise.”
