Rumors and leaks are making it seem ever more likely that Blizzard will finally reveal Diablo 4 at this year’s BlizzCon, and though it may not have the energy it should under the circumstances – the disastrous Diablo Immortal reveal last compounded with the boycott and associated Hearthstone esports drama over Hong Kong make that a dodgy proposition for a lot of gamers – it’s still something that’s getting attention.
In the leak thread, commenters were speculating on the announcement and what specifically they wanted out of the game. While a lot of people hated the auction hall in D3, for example, I didn’t, so that doesn’t even make my list. I’m more interested in something that is offline-playable, and if not, then in something that’s going to get a lot of content pumped into it for multiple years, and not just grind seasons. This, of course, assumes Blizzard makes amends, but that’s another thing altogether.
Other folks are clearly more interested in the story and just want serious improvement in the game’s narrative, given the overall perception that D3 was a bit of a mess. What are you hoping to see in Diablo 4?
