If you were hoping that today’s crossplay patch for Black Desert would allow all platforms to group together under one banner, you would be wrong… by a small margin. PC players are still not part of the crossplay party, but Xbox One and PlayStation 4 players are; players can chat regardless of platform, join guilds from either platform, and the central market for the console versions will be merged. This will also result in something of a server merge, so some character names may need changing.
The patch notes also mean that some features already present on Xbox One have been added to PS4, with those specific additions denoted via blue text in the patch notes. Moving forward, both sides will be working together and adventuring as one, including in the renewed Kamasylvia storyline added with today’s patch and the new Offin Tett world boss. But hey, expanding your pool of friends and potential recruits alone is a good thing for the long-term health of the game. The game is also celebrating via events; there are discount sales in place from now until March 18th, and there’s a special event for all the console playerbase to get special weapon boxes via in-game quests.
It's finally here! Crossplay has arrived to Black Desert! Enjoy your adventures as one!
