The Daily Grind: Are you more likely to delete or bench an MMO toon?

I’m sure I’m not the only one, but I hate deleting MMO toons, even when I’m positive I’m never going to play them ever again.

Obviously, this changes from game to game. I don’t delete characters in the Guild Wars franchise, for example, because birthday gifts. But even in City of Heroes, where you can have hundreds of characters, I still don’t delete them; I just bench them. I’ll strip their enhancements and cash, but then I leave them sit. In an MMO with fewer character slots, though, I’d probably have no choice but to cut them loose.

Are you more likely to delete or bench an MMO toon? When was the last time you legitimately deleted an MMO character?

Every morning, the Massively Overpowered writers team up with mascot Mo to ask MMORPG players pointed questions about the massively multiplayer online roleplaying genre. Grab a mug of your preferred beverage and take a stab at answering the question posed in today’s Daily Grind!
