Star Citizen is always looking toward a future of things to do and that throughline continues in the game’s usual weekly update post, which highlights some new things coming up this weekend as well as in the game’s next alpha build.
This Friday, July 12th, will see the community-minded Foundation Festival come back once more, which encourages veteran players to take new arrivals under their wing. More information about what that will entail is likely set to arrive later in the week.
The rest of this week otherwise prepares another Star Citizen Live episode, which will field player questions for the mission team, and another Inside Star Citizen video that calls attention to the new content scheduled for alpha 3.24, which includes the previously delayed freight elevator and cargo overhaul as well as a new Blockade Runner global event that tasks players with bringing specific goods safely from stations that are being guarded by Ninetails ships. Incidentally, alpha 3.24 is tentatively looking at a third quarter release.
Meanwhile, alpha 4.0 is next in line, according to the game’s release view, with Cloud Imperium’s plans to bring engineering gameplay, new hazards like fire and solar bursts, the Pyro system, space cows, a rework of ship MFDs, and the long-in-development meshing of servers.
