It’s been just under a month since Final Fantasy XIV players took a trip to the game’s version of America in Dawntrail, but in just about a month the developers are taking a different trip. They’re heading to Cologne, Germany to take part in Gamescom 2024 on August 21st through the 25th, complete with a special fan gathering taking place in the city in a currently undated fan celebration. So if you’re already in or near Cologne, well, you have some extra reason to go and get your “I BEAT VALIGARMANDA” shirt.
While the announcement promises numerous panels as well as the in-person celebrations, no actual information has been included beyond noting that they will be broadcast on the FFXIV Twitch channel as they occur. Could their be exciting new reveals for players? We don’t know yet, although given the “expansion just released” element that seems a bit unlikely. But who knows? Cologne is a magical place, after all.
