For a long time, if you asked a World of Warcraft fan to identify a Windrunner, you could probably expect to hear “Sylvanas” as the response. But Alleria Windrunner has been kicking around in the game since Legion, and she’s getting a lot of story prominence in The War Within. So in case you are not knee-deep in lore about the game, you might want to get a crash course (or at least a refresher) with a new animated short detailing the character’s history.
The short traces Alleria’s evolution from being a High Elven Ranger in Quel’thalas at the start of the war against the Horde in Warcraft II up through her embrace of shadowy energies and up to the present day, explaining both her outfit change and some of her way of looking at the world.
