Compared to some of the cadence of the big dogs in the MMO genre, Star Wars: The Old Republic might not be producing the same sheer volume of content, but Executive Producer Keith Kanneg thinks that this scrappy team at Broadsword is doing the game justice in 2024.
Kanneg penned his last letter of the year for the community, wrapping up the major achievements of the past 12 months. Among these are the efforts to “replace, extend, and refine [the game’s] technology” so that updates could be created and delivered better and faster. And speaking of patches, he touted May’s GU 7.5: Desperate Defiance and December’s GU 7.6: Galactic Threads as major efforts of the team alongside other projects such as the beta for the Mac launcher.
As for what’s coming in 2025, Kanneg was a tad bit cagey, saying that Q1 will host a new Galactic Season, after which will come… something? “And then of course, right on the horizon of 7.6.1 is 7.7! Really looking forward to talking about our plans here as we have a new [redacted] coming with some new [redacted], the continuation of our story, along with a host of other things to tell you about!”
