First round of BlizzCon tix sells out

11

Within a few minutes of going on sale yesterday, the first round of $199 BlizzCon tickets completely sold out. The good news is that a second round of tickets will be put up for grabs on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. EDT, giving those who missed out another chance to get in on Blizzard’s fan convention.

BlizzCon 2015 will take place on November 6th and 7th at the Anaheim Convention Center. Players who buy tickets can transfer the name on the ticket up until August 14th, meaning that there could be a busy secondary market selling tickets between fans.

Sometimes I’m glad I’m not a big Blizz fan. I don’t know if I could handle it lol. (I play a bit of Hearthstone sometimes and probably more now since the mobile version is out, no Starcraft, barely Diablo, casual WoW but haven’t for years)

Man it is impossible for me to get tickets it seems. I was there the second they went on sale, only to be kicked out of line and just ended up wasting 40mins. I have been trying for years with no luck. I guess I should call it quits.

Siphaed More like 200 bucks to go to a gaming event with a ton of your online friends.  Where you can listen and discuss games your passionate about and meet other like minded individuals. While I’m not that big or interested in Blizzcon, it’s easy to see why many are.  It’s no different than PAX, or Animecons, or another other large convention.

Tickets already being sold on EBay $300 +  I wonder what the percentage of those sold in the first round is as far as genuine fan purchase compared to scalpers /sigh

Love or hate WoW, there’s no denying it still has many committed fans that will pay those prices in a heartbeat. (And why not if they enjoy it) I just hope that they’re not taken extreme advantage of through scalping of tickets at insane prices close to August 14th. (Anyone know how high they have been resold for in the past? I’m curious)
If they don’t already, Blizzard should also have tickets available via other avenues like in-game activities, contests, a raffle etc. to at least give people other options.

It actually took minutes? I guess Blizzard’s popularity is declining as in the past I know for a fact (from friends who’ve tried to attend every Blizzcon) that if you don’t click on ‘Buy’ withing the first 30 seconds, you’re usually SoL.
