The Daily Grind: How many MMOs are on your hard drive?

I got a new gaming computer last week, and I’m in the process of downloading a few MMOs. I’ve only got 300 GB to work with, though, thanks to Comcast, it’s godawful bandwidth restrictions, and the fact that it has a real live monopoly on internet service in my hometown.

I’ve already downloaded and installed GTA Online (60 GB), Star Citizen (25 GB), Lord of the Rings Online (20 GB), DC Universe Online (20 GB), Marvel Heroes (15 GB), Infinite Crisis (5 GB), and the Star Wars Galaxies EMU (5 GB). That’s half of my monthly allowance and it’s only May 4th!

Those titles will provide plenty of entertainment for the next 30 days, but there are several others I’d like to dabble in for both personal and professional reasons. Next month, I guess! What about you, MOP readers? How many MMOs are on your hard drive at the moment?

Every morning, the Massively Overpowered writers team up with mascot Mo to ask MMORPG players pointed questions about the massively multiplayer online roleplaying genre. Grab a mug of your preferred beverage and take a stab at answering the question posed in today’s Daily Grind!

I have a 1TB HD but it actually is not enough if I wanted to install every game I own/want to install (Steam, etc), so I suppose I can upgrade sometime in the next few years. I suppose the current standard is somewhere around 3-8TB?

My ISP is pretty great (for what’s in Canada) and I almost never have to worry about a cap since its in the couple/few 100s of GB for a relatively cheap price (bf and I split about $50/month). They work through Rogers lines though, so if Rogers gives them/us hassle/has problems, we have to deal with it. For example, it took weeks to install our Internet when we moved here because my ISP has to use a Rogers technician, and they can put us on the bottom of their list -_-.

I’m strictly ONLY counting MMOs. No, Path of Exile and GTA Online (for example) doesn’t count (even if they come close in ways).

I have installed, in no particular order: Defiance, Guild Wars 2, Neverwinter, RIFT, Star Wars: The Old Republic, TERA, The Elder Scrolls Online, The Secret World, Trove, World of Warcraft.

Some of these are not a priority; ESO was just a demo weekend, WoW was to see if I could tolerate it again and I only demoed Lv 1-20 this time, etc.

Some of these are just hanging on but barely; Neverwinter is one I want to be good but I don’t think I can approve of its business, TERA is one I want to like but honestly… I just can’t.

The only ones that I prioritize in my mind are: RIFT, SWTOR, TSW.

But I’d like to get into: ESO, FFXIV.

To answer the question – I have 10 MMOs on my hard drive, though I could probably  halve that with no problems.

At the moment, zero. Just haven’t really been in the mood to play any.

The one and only LotRO, which I play on a weekly basis – and do not have time to add another MMO to my life, not at the moment.

Mansemat I see what you did there. This comment should be allotted to a lot of posters.

I think I have like 4-5, and I’m not really sure because I rarely uninstall games unless I truly hate them. The ones I know I have are GW, GW2, and TSW.
