As always, these notes serve only as a preliminary outline, with certain information intentionally omitted such as the new item recipes. However, it’s more than enough for players to have a clearer picture of how all of the new content will play with what’s already in-game, along with uplifting promises like more readily accessible upgrade tokens for level 50 gear. Check out the full set of patch notes and get ready for the patch on November 10th.

vicariousfan What broken achievements? i would like to know so I can keep an eye out. Another user here asked but, like always, you never answered.
You wont take me back FFXIV.
Rahzel I think the changes in “ways to get Esoterics” balance out the lack of Expert variety a bit; not entirely, but with two roulettes plus Void Ark it’s not going to be quite as grinding to get the cap each week, which hopefully means that the new dungeons will wear out a bit more slowly. That having been said… yeah, I’d like more than two dungeons per rotation.
Especially when the designers know that nobody likes having such a small rotation for Expert. Darn it.
Deftones Freak The only catch is that only Free Company airships can access the hardest difficulty.
The upside, though, is that you can bring non-FC members on FC airships. It only takes one or two FC members per airship (the translation I read was vague on which). Also, there apparently won’t be loot that only drops in the hardest difficulty, it’s just a matter of Hard having higher drop rates for the gold loot chests, which do still drop in Easy and Normal.
Deftones Freak Stop harassing our readers. Do not come back.
CONFIRMED: Do not need a Free Company to do Exploratory Missions.
“Ishgardian Exploratory MissionsPlayers can also journey to the Diadem via Ishgardian airships. Players can undertake Isghardian exploratory missions solo or in a party of up to eight people. Each player of the party must have a mission ceruleum voucher in their possession, which can be purchased from the NPC Jaquoinie in the Pillars (X:14 Y:10) for gil. One voucher is required for each mission. There are no role requirements when entering as a full party. However, parties with less than eight players must adhere to the standard composition of 2 tanks, 2 healers, and 4 DPS.”
elixabethclaire Rahzel That is a valid point, and one I can concede to. You’re right, I hadn’t really considered the huge jump in ilevels making that content too faceroll easy to merit the expert rewards. Still, it’s something I’d like to see going forward, at least.
Rahzel I do hope that in the future of 3.x, there’ll be a one-patch overlap or something for expert, so we don’t have quite as much repetition. With how quickly gear ilevels jumped up between release and now, though, I can understand Neverreap and TFC being discarded for expert.
